Are you tired of the rat race and eager to discover the secrets of financial success?
Have you wondered what the rich do differently to become…rich?
As I was working on my presentations for Wealth Retreat this year, I looked back to see what common threads the successful property investors and business people who came in previous years shared.
The first thing was they understood the importance of surrounding themselves with the right people.
They realise their network makes a world of difference.
Remember, you become the average of the five people you spend the most time with.
Here are some other reasons why some people are more successful, and the rich get richer.
Now just to be clear... not everyone who is rich is what I would classify as successful, and success does not necessarily have anything to do with money, but wouldn't it be nice to have both?
1. They have a different mindset
Wealthy individuals have a growth mindset, which means they see challenges as opportunities for growth rather than obstacles.
They are not afraid of failure, and they embrace the lessons that come from setbacks.
2. They invest in their education
The rich are always learning and improving their skills.
They invest in themselves by attending seminars, reading books, and seeking out mentors.
They understand that knowledge is power and that staying ahead of the curve is crucial to success.
I guess that’s why they invest 5 days of their life coming to Wealth Retreat and that’s why over a third of the attendees this year are coming back for a second, third or fourth time.

3. They have multiple streams of income
Wealthy people don't rely on a single source of income.
They diversify their investments and create multiple revenue streams, allowing them to continue building wealth even during economic downturns.
4. They take calculated risks
The rich understand that to create wealth, you need to take risks.
They don't shy away from opportunities, but they do their homework and make informed decisions based on data and expert advice.
Having said that, what you need to do to become wealthy, and to stay wealthy are very different.
Once they become wealthy, many of the rich investors that come to Wealth Retreat use very different techniques and strategies to maintain their wealth and pass it on to future generations.
In fact, that's one of the many areas we focus on at Wealth Retreat – how to safely pass on wealth to future generations
5. They have a long-term perspective
Wealthy individuals plan for the future and make decisions based on long-term goals rather than short-term gains.
They are patient and understand that building wealth takes time and persistence.
As Warren Buffett wisely said: “Wealth is the transfer of money from the impatient to the patient.”
6. They leverage other people's time and money
The rich know how to delegate tasks and utilize the skills of others to help them achieve their goals.
They also understand the power of leveraging other people's money through investments and partnerships.
7. They give back
Many wealthy individuals are philanthropists, giving back to their communities and supporting causes they care about.
This not only helps those in need but also creates a positive cycle of goodwill and abundance.
While outsiders may look at the delegates at Wealth Retreat and wonder why a group of people who are already rich would spend 5 days learning about how to get even richer, once you're in the room you'll see that a large part of the motivation of many of the delegates is contribution – they believe it’s their obligation to help others up the ladder so they give back to their community.
8. Goal setting and visualization
The wealthy set clear, well-defined goals and visualize themselves achieving these goals.
This practice helps them maintain focus and motivation, even in the face of setbacks.
When you come to Wealth Retreat it's likely you’ll have a whole lot of ideas, but when you go home you will have clear, specific goals and plans.
The theme of Wealth Repeat is where will you be in 5 years' time, in all areas of your life.
You will go home with a holistic set of goals, not just for money and finance but also in the areas of family, health, spirituality, contribution and recreation.
What would it mean to you if you could up your results over the next 5 years by 10% or 20%?

9. Networking
Wealthy individuals understand the value of building and maintaining a strong network.
They cultivate relationships with people who can help them grow personally and professionally, and they actively seek out opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals.
Sure you can learn things from the Internet, podcasts and blogs, but there's nothing like being in a room full of successful business people entrepreneurs and investors and networking with them.
You may not be at their level yet but don't count yourself out, click here now, find out more and register your interest to join us at Wealth Retreat 2023.
10. Embracing change
The rich recognize that the world is constantly changing, and they adapt to these changes by staying informed and updating their skills and knowledge.
They remain open to new ideas and are not afraid to pivot when necessary.
11. Financial literacy
Wealthy people are financially literate and understand the intricacies of managing money.
They are knowledgeable about various investment vehicles, tax strategies, and wealth-building techniques, which allows them to make informed decisions about their finances.
As most of the attendees at Wealth Retreat are already successful business people entrepreneurs and investors the topics we cover are not what you'd find in the books or on the Internet.
They need that type of information that running the top 1% of successful investors would benefit from.
What would it mean to you if you knew this type of information?
12. Time management
The rich value their time and are intentional about how they spend it.
They prioritize tasks that align with their goals and delegate or outsource lower-priority activities.
This approach allows them to focus on high-impact activities that generate the most value.
13 Resilience
Wealthy individuals understand that setbacks and failures are part of the journey to success.
They cultivate resilience by learning from their mistakes, seeking feedback, and staying committed to their goals.
14. Continuous self-improvement
The wealthy are committed to personal growth and constantly seek ways to enhance their skills, knowledge, and expertise.
They are lifelong learners who invest in themselves through ongoing education, training, and personal development.
I guess that's why many of the delegates at Wealth Retreat come back for a second, third or 4th time.
Note: The rich get richer because they play the game of life differently.
They are financially fluent and understand the rules of money tax and the law and use them to their advantage.
They invest in themselves, they have a growth mindset and make strategic decisions that propel them towards greater wealth.
If you want to join the ranks of the wealthy, I suggest you start by changing your mindset – get some mentors.
Surround yourself with positive influences, invest in your education, and never stop learning and seek advice from those who have already achieved the type of success you’re looking for.
By taking these steps, you too can become a master of the game of life and create the wealth and abundance you desire.
