Celebrate ‘Good Enough’: The Key to a Fulfilling Journey

To all the high achievers out there, here’s a question:

When did you last pause to acknowledge that 'good enough' can be a victory too?

If you're anything like the many ambitious property investors and business people I encounter, you're probably your own harshest critic.

You chase the extraordinary and, in doing so, you often overlook the ordinary wins.

So let's shift perspective for a moment.

Consider this:

  • How many times in the past month have you acknowledged your efforts, even if the outcome wasn't perfect?
  • Have you taken a moment to praise yourself for navigating the day with the resources you had at your disposal?

Success

Here’s a little framework I find helpful:

  1. On about 10% of days, you're on fire. You're a powerhouse of motivation and everything just clicks.
  2. On another 10% of days, it's the exact opposite. You're drained, and the world feels like it's asking too much.
  3. That leaves us with the remaining 80%. These are the average days, where you're not soaring high but not sinking low either. You're just... there, ready to face the day.

It's in these 80% of average days that the essence of a well-lived life is found.

Anyone can excel when they’re feeling at their peak.

It’s showing up with consistency during the 'in-between' days that set the foundation for success.

Now, even if the best you can muster on a given day is a 'B' effort, then that's worth a celebration in itself.

Applaud yourself for stepping up.

If you berate yourself for not achieving an 'A' standard every time, you'll only breed reluctance for future efforts.

Next time you're inclined to be your own critic for not reaching the heights of greatness, ask yourself a simple question: “Could you instead celebrate the 'good enough'?”

Remember, every bit of progress, no matter how small, adds up over time!

That's just another example of the power of compounding.
