Here’s what Australians are earning + 10 highest paid Aussie jobs

The ATO recently revealed the top 10 highest paying jobs in the country as well as how much "ordinary" Australians are earning.

Interestingly the medical profession took out the top three spots.

Surgeons earned an average of over $394,000 a year, followed by anesthetists bringing in $386,000 a year and internal medicine specialists earning $ $304,700.

By comparison, the average Aussie earns $62,549 a year in taxable income.

The most recent stats are for the tax year 2018- 19 before the pandemic hit, and as the table below shows the average taxable income for males was $73,218 and there was a significant gender gap with average taxable income for females being $51,832
