When I read these sorts of quotes, I tend to think about whether their implementation would actually work, and also the options. The options don’t work, and often the implementation of the ideas don’t work themselves, but I’ve found that if one employs Branson’s ideas all together, they usually work. Of course Branson has failed, but this is not a proof of whether the ideas work. So, considering the Virgin Australia “failure”, I think readers should actually consider this in more detail, by reading this overview from the Financial Review, and ask themselves the critical question: Is debt always a failure? and also: Is it a worse failure than not founding Virgin Australia? https://www.afr.com/chanticleer/five-lessons-from-virgin-s-collapse-20200420-p54lj6
All successful people have failed along the way – success is a stepwise progression, do you expect anything different would be foolish
Michael,
So how is it that Richard Branson in s highly successful entrepreneur? Why is his advice any better than than truly successful entrepreneurs.
Branson had a 10% stake in Virgin Airlines. An Airline that hasn’t yet made a profit in it’s commercial history and now it’s bankrupt. Quantas and some other airlines aren’t bankrupt.
Branson was so highly wise and successful and full of all the borrowed success quotes and couldn’t save his own $7B debt riden enterprise of a long time failed airline.
Branson of course has a substantial personal fortune and influences a hugely debt ridden bankrupt airline business.
So go figure what are the real character traits and actual credentials of Richard Branson behind the hyped up and glamorous facade?
It seems he is good at Influencing others to create a bankrupt and hugely debt ridden business.
