According to my Rich Habits Study data, finding a career success mentor in life was the fast track to success.
Career success mentors teach you what to do and what not to do, what works and what doesn’t work.
They teach you the career habits that will help you succeed and they forewarn you about the bad habits that will cause you to fail in your career.
Career success mentors also open doors that are otherwise closed to everyone else.
With one phone call, text or email, they can change your life for the better by helping you get Fortune 500 jobs, by introducing you to future partners or by helping you land that big customer/account.
But finding a career success mentor is not easy.
Only 19% of the self-made millionaires in my Study found a career success mentor in their life. Interestingly, 100% of those 19% said they owe their success in life to their career success mentors.
Which brings me to my point in this article.
Because career success mentors are hard to find, that is why it is critical for parents to become successful mentors to their children.
Parents are often the only shot any of us have at finding a successful mentor in life.
74% of the self-made millionaires in my Rich Habits Study said their parents taught them the success habits that helped them become wealthy.
Their parents literally teed them up to succeed in life by becoming their success mentors.
