Want to know the wealthiest postcodes in Australia?
Well, whether it’s the upscale coffee culture, the weekly farmers market or the yacht advocates popping Moet with their Sunday brunch, it is no surprise that Sydney’s harbourside suburbs have been named Australia’s wealthiest areas, according to data released by the Australian Taxation Office.
The average income for a person living within the postcode 2027 is $200,000, according to tax returns for the 2013-14 financial year, up from $170,000 in 2012-13.
The 2027 postcode encompasses the harbourside suburbs of Darling Point, Edgecliff and Point Piper, and falls within Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s electorate.
Victoria’s exclusive playground for the rich and famous,Toorak, came in at number two on the list, with the average person residing in postcode 3142 reporting a taxable income of $167,407 in 2013-14.
Resident’s in Mosman and Spit Junction in inner Sydney are biting at Toorak’s heels, however, with a mean taxable income of $161,579.

Mean taxable income for 2013-14: $155,172
5. 2030 – Dover Heights, Rose Bay North, Vaucluse, Watsons Bay NSW
Mean taxable income for 2013-14: $154,010
6. 6011 – Peppermint Grove, Cottesloe WA
Mean taxable income for 2013-14: $152,792
7. 2063 – Northbridge NSW
8. 2110 – Hunters Hill, Woolwich NSW
Mean taxable income for 2013-14: $149,761
9. 3944 – Portsea VIC
Mean taxable income for 2013-14: $141,172
10. 6009 – Broadway Nedlands, Crawley, Dalkeith, Nedlands WA
Mean taxable income for 2013-14: $133,958
