Melbourne named the world’s most liveable city for 7 years in a row

Melbourne is the most liveable city in the world!

Now you could say I’m biased (and I am) but it’s been named the world’s most liveable city for the seventh year in a row by the Economist Intelligence Unit’s liveability survey of 140 cities melbourne

The survey rated cities out of 100 in the areas of healthcare, education, stability, culture and environment and infrastructure.

Melbourne received an overall score of 97.5 out of 100 scoring highly for healthcare, infrastructure and education, although Toronto and Auckland beat it for culture.

Adelaide and Perth also made it to the top 10 of the list with both capitals scoring well for education and healthcare and Perth took out a top ranking for infrastructure and transport.

However Sydney dropped to #11 this year.

Of course this helps our property markets

Melbourne is Australia’s fastest growing city and they’re not coming here becuase of the weather! Melbourne property skyline

It’s popularity has led to strong population growth around 2,000 people a week.

And not surprisingly many of them want to live in our inner and middle ring suburbs – where most of the amenities are.

That plus our strong economic growth has kept Melbourne’s property markets robust and this is unlikely to change in the immediate future.
